José Miguel Hernández is a filmmaker, engineer, artist and entrepreneur living in the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in social software, advertising and monetization.

Jose is a startup junkie and currently works with the Social Gaming startup behind the hit title Mall World, acting as Director of User Activation and managing every detail of our Facebook Integration as well as all partner integrations. He recently worked for the social network bebo supporting sponsorship and monetization efforts. Previously he was an R&D product engineer at Meca Communications, a provider of white-labeled instant messaging experiences. His technical expertise in web development spans a both front and back-end scripting languages: HTML5 / JS, PHP, Java/JSP, ActionScript. Current platform knowledge includes Facebook API, Social Platform API's. Currently, buffing up on HTML5 game design.

Education
Jose holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Film and Digital Media from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He served as web and production manager for Eyecandy, the Journal of Film and Digital Media. For the duration of his studies, Jose worked as a student web developer for various departments in the university. Previously he studied fine arts at Cuesta College, and (very briefly) computer science at Cal Poly.
History
Jose was born in the Los Angeles area and grew up in San Luis Obispo. His paternal family is Mexican/Mexican-American and located in Ventura County and Mexico City. His maternal Family is Irish and located in Australia, Galway, Tipperary and Boston.
