Autocinemobile
From Jose Miguel Hernandez Wiki
An experiment in multi-camera filmmaking, this 13-minute short consists of 2 streams of video and one stream of audio. Colin Murray and I attached an ancient VHS video camera with no microphone to the top of my Subaru. Since the car cannot drive legally on the streets, we took it off-roading, with a handheld DV camera running in sync to the VHS. Since the VHS camera had no battery and the car had no registration, their relationship was symbiotic. The car feeds electricity to the camera through an AC inverter, while the camera gives the car a subjectivity in video. I was inspired by Michael Snow's Wavelength.
